Acting Classes ~ Behind the scenes!
South Manchester Helen O'Grady

Often a successful performances belies the incredible amount of planning and hard work which is required to ensure the show looks as good as it does. The Smhog performance term is not exception. Already costume has been ordered but only after a comprehensive review of the current Smhog stock. After this we then have to consider the set and scenery. Despite knowing what it all looks like we still have to get it out of storage to look at it before we decide whether it fits the bill. I have to comment that we owe a great deal of gratitude to Gill Hollis, the previous Principal of Smhog, for her attention to details and keen eye for quality which allows us to embark on the scenery review. The scenery looks brilliant but we may still require a few more bits and pieces to be made, just to make it perfect. Then we have to check our props. Only then will the stage production side be completed.

Andy and Ruth will then review all the scripts due to be performed by the students. This year we have some cracking ideas which will allow everyone to have their own little piece of fame performing in front of their proud mum, dads, grandmas, grandads, brothers, sisters etc, etc, etc. I’m sure everyone will have a great time in July when the show is due to be performed. I can’t wait. This is what all the acting classes and drama classes are for. At South Manchester Helen O Grady Drama Academy we pride ourselves on our commitment to your child. Allowing their confidence and self esteem to show through by performance. I hope that you, too, cannot wait.

See you there.

If you are reading this and think your child might want to get involved then there is still time to enrol and be considered for the performance. The auditions will take place in the next couple of weeks and, you never know, your child may end up being a star of the stage. Contact us at:
