 Drama, Confidence and Self-Esteem

Ronald McDonald House Carities

Ronald McDonald House Carities

Under the blog heading of Drama, Confidence and Self-Esteem we brought you a very confident Hannah Sharp appearing on BBC Breakfast news. If you click the link you can see a recording of her TV appearance. We now have to announce that Lauren Sharp (Hannah’s sister) from our Altrincham Studio and Finn Bracegirdle from our Gatley studio will be appearing on the ITV 1 Tonight TV programme this Thursday 4 December 2014 at 7.30pm. We are rightly very proud of all our children and youth and it is a great feeling to see them confidently appearing in front of camera knowing it will be shown to millions.

This week, we are having a small showcase of our youth section performing to friends and family at the Our Lady’s and English Martyr’s Parish Centre in Urmston. For those of you who know the area it is locally known as the Nag’s Head Roundabout due to a pub by the same name being located there. It is about half a mile from the Trafford Centre and the venue we use for our LAMDA classes. This is a great opportunity for all of our youth section to perform monologues, duologues and small scripted pieces of a few minutes to their parents and friends. I can’t wait to see the performance of an Ugly Sister (from Cinderella) piece that I did myself a number of years ago. SMHOG is about instilling confidence and self-esteem in our students and where better to show this than by their very own stage performance. I hope to get some good photos of the event which I will stick on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/smhoggi and maybe in a future blog. Profits from the event will go towards the Ronald McDonald House Charities. If you want to seee what this charity does, click the link provided.

All our children tell us what a fantastic time they have at SMHOG. It is noticeable just how confident children become by participating in our curriculum based method of learning which is fun and free of competition. It is available to all irrespective of ability and challenges children to communicate, think and act in a disciplined way.

We think that the South Manchester Helen O’Grady Drama Academy is the best in its field with venues in your area on various nights of the week. Just give a call or email some contact details as we would be happy to discuss our great Academy with you.
