Self-Confidence is the Best Outfit, Rock It and Own It
South Manchester Helen O'Grady

Self-Confidence means to trust one’s abilities. The best way to obtain self-confidence is to believe in yourself deeply. You should be of the opinion that you have the potential to overpower any hurdle that you are faced with because Self-Esteem is one of those few things that we have control over.

Self-Confidence is a quality that cannot be de-skilled. It is up to the individual as to how much they believe in themselves but these are skills which can be gained through proper tuition.

We should believe in ourselves first, before others believe in us. It is said that confidence is the key to success. Self-confidence is satisfaction in oneself. It is important to have self-confidence because it can affect how much you attain in life and because it is reflected in how a person communicates, an ability so vital in later life. You can gain self-confidence by stepping out of your comfort zone,  facing your fearfulness, being watchful of your body movement, letting go of the strait-jacket of perfectionism and being yourself. By having a low level of confidence, it is questionable whether a person can look forward to achieving success, no matter how much talent or how much hard work involving the individual concerned.

The ultimate lifetime aim of a student may change from time to time but in order to achieve one’s aim, one has to work towards the required level of confidence. It can easily be summarised as ‘Self-confidence is essential for being successful’.

Helen O’Grady Drama Classes are furnished to help children to boost their speech and language skills, while boosting their self-confidence. We focus on skill development and problem solving using a drama based curriculum designed to instil that confidence and belief in a student’s own abilities. There is no judgement and there is no competition. Every student is simply required to gain as much out of our programme of learning as they possibly can. We often see some of our newer students taking time to see their more experienced peers and realising that they can copy, develop and eventually enhance the level of performance.

The job market is cut throat, as is the fight for some university places, which sometimes requires an interview. Often we see stories in newspapers and on social media regarding applicants who were unable to express themselves, were too embarrassed to properly represent their own abilities and unable to present themselves in a competent and professional manner. A well presented individual who can communicate effectively certainly has the upper hand at any interview for a job or university place. We believe that our classes provide the requisite tools and skills to enhance our students abilities.

At the time of this blog post we have drama classes in Altrincham, Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme, Chorlton, Gatley, Sale, Stretford and Urmston. We are soon hoping to open new drama classes and acting classes at Marthall Hall in Knutsford which allows us to bring our tried and tested drama skills to a wider audience.

All you have to do is ring the office and arrange a free trial lesson on 0161 749 8746. If your child likes our classes simply enrol from the week after.
