SMHOG Website Update – The Bard comes to Smhog!
South Manchester Helen O'Grady
As part of our commitment to bring you what we consider to be the best drama classes and acting classes we have updated our website to bring more information about our wonderful classes. Our webmaster, Aidan, together with our web developer and content management system developer, Richard, have teamed up to provide new pages specific to the studios in the areas we operate. Our front page now sports a brand new map which is fully interactive and allows you to see where your local class is. The map can be dragged and magnified to street level for the area around each of our studios. The corresponding link on the map will take you to a further page where you can access details about the class, the teacher and the times of lessons at the studio including a little bit of history of the area.
As with the curriculum we use in our teaching, the website is constantly reviewed and monitored to see if we can improve it to bring you the best information and advice about the excellent service we offer. Also we want to show you just how much our students enjoy their classes at SMHOG and we hope to do this with images and videos in the coming months. To this aim you can see we have now provided direct links to our Facebook page, Twitter feed and YouTube channel towards the top right hand corner of all the pages. Feel free to have a look and also feel free to email any comments you have to us at email@example.com.
If you are still unsure about what we do then fear not. We offer the first lesson as a trial and free of charge so your child can experience what the South Manchester Helen O’Grady Drama Academy teaching model is all about and simply see if it is for them. If it is we can guarantee an exciting and fun filled package designed to instil confidence and self-esteem, improving concentration and communication skills.
Our curriculum now allows us to bring Shakespeare to Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Youth students for the first time. Our Shakespeare week is this week commencing on Monday 10th February 2014 and we are sure it will be a success. It is somewhat surprising that this is the week most of our students are talking about and keen to be involved in. Shakespeare bridges all generations and an ability to perform his plays is the pinnacle of the careers of many professional actors. The classes will involve working Shakespeare themes and scripts.
The Tempest is the Shakespeare play of choice for this week for the Lower Primary and Upper Primary. Children will be working with actual scripts or scripts based on the play and will be encouraged to ad lib or improvise their own endings or scenarios. The youth will work with Macbeth scripts. The features of the lesson will involve using famous Shakespeare phrases still in common use as tongue twisters developing speech and communication. It promises to be a fantastic week and we will try and get some photo’s if we can.
