What’s that? LAMDA classes coming to @SMHOG in September
South Manchester Helen O'Grady
That’s right. Smhog are researching the feasibility for LAMDA classes resulting in access to relevant drama and acting teaching and examinations being provided by us from September. This is an exciting new development for SMHOG and we are rightly proud to be able to offer this opportunity to achieve excellent and highly regarded qualifications. This is another great reason to choose SMHOG and Helen O’Grady Drama Classes as your preferred route into drama for kids, acting for kids, confidence and self-esteem. The route through to higher education can sometimes require a child to be confident, expressive and able to communicate effectively. Some entrance requires require performance or just an interview. If your child has these skills acquired through a curriculum based model of learning developed through Helen O’Grady and under constant review then they give themselves a head start and a better chance to showcase their talent.
Now for the blurb: The University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is the organisation responsible for managing applications to higher education courses in the UK. Its aim is to help students make informed choices that are right for them – guiding them, as well as their parents and advisers, through the higher education application process. Not all universities and colleges use the UCAS Tariff but around half of all course entry requirements make reference to the Tariff. Use of the Tariff varies – some universities and colleges will list their entry requirements and make offers using only Tariff points; some will ask for specific qualifications and a set amount of Tariff points; and some will request Tariff points only from specific qualifications.
Applications through UCAS are conducted using the UCAS Tariff. This is a means of allocating points to compare post-16 qualifications used for entry to higher education. It was developed to help learners make sensible application choices and to provide information to universities and colleges about a wide range of qualifications. LAMDA’s Level 3 recognised qualifications are included in the current UCAS Tariff. The table below shows how points are assigned by grade and by attainment level (Pass (P), Merit (M) or Distinction (D)) – See more at: http://www.lamda.org.uk/examinations/about-examinations/lamda-qualifications-and-ucas#sthash.ICkeUKGA.dpuf.
